25 minutes to St Annes on the Sea

St Annes is just 13 miles from Preston and sitting on the edge of the Ribble Estuary. It has enormous sands that the tide covers twice a day. It can take 10 minutes to reach the sea when the tide is out although the sand by the shore is good for children.

St Annes has a good promenade with a few fairground rides, beach chalets and decent looking hotels. Quite a reasonable selection of shops with some chains like WH Smith, Boots.
