Guild Hall and Charter Theatre

 

Currenly closed 1st December 2022.

 

The Guild Hall contains a 2000 seat arena and 780 seat theatre. There is also a shopping centre.

 

It was built in 1972 and is linked to the Bus Station and it's large car park by a walkway enabling passage through the shopping centre to the Harris Museum area and the city centre.

 

A wide range of shows are held in the two locations, including Theatre, Comedy, Orchestral.

The UK Snooker Championships were held in the Guild Arena from 1978 to 1997.

The Guild Hall Atrium 1st December 2022

 

The shopping arcade in Preston Guild Hall. Now contains only the Preston and Lancashire Central Library.

 

 

 

 

Playhouse Theatre

 

The Preston Playhouse Theatre is in a former Quaker Meeting House, a Georgian building just off Friargate in Market Street West and there is a car park across the road.

It has featured local amateur theatrical groups since 1946.
