*There were sidings and coal depots in addition at Corporation Street and Dock Street but there were no on-site railway staff there - a checker walked across each day from Preston Christian Road to do wagon stocktaking, recording and checking which wagons were incurring standage and demurrage charges.
*Balshaw Lane closed about 1968 when the local service between Preston and Wigan/Warrington was withdrawn and the Ordnance factory closed before 1963. Both sites have since reopened -Balshaw Lane is now called Euxton (Balshaw Lane) and the Ordnance factory station has been replaced by a new station and is now called Buckshaw Parkway.
