Blackpool Totally Transport 2006

25th June 2006

A collection of pictures from the day. Started sunny and warm but deteriorated to showers.

Arrived just before 11am and vehicles were still arriving. The prom was closed from Starr Gate to the Pleasure Beach about half a mile. Wandering along the newly rebuilt South Shore prom there were vehicles on the main road, up on the breakwater and on the roads inshore. In the Renewable Energy Centre were model tramways, Meccano's, cafe, stalls and singers. The model tramways were interesting, you can get a lot in a small space. One was from St Helens and they'd done a model of Penny Lane in the 1950's (picture below).

A Mini rally was en-route from Manchester to Blackpool but hadn't arrived when we left.

I thought the Silver Star from Dewsbury was the star of the show. Unfortunately my photo was blocked by a van and then the owners had a picnic in front of it blocking further photo oppotunities. Never mind, nice coach.

The police van with fake dogs inside was neat and the bread van with fake bread.

Ribble and Leyland buses. A green London Transport bus, neat. Loads of photo's, too many to show. Jaguars, Fords, TVRs. The Chrysler PT's looked great. In fact I'd give them my 2nd star of the show, but I didn't take any pictures for some reason.
